Job Opportunities for Filipino Teachers Abroad

Teacher is considered as one of the noble professions because of their dedication to impart knowledge, morals and skills to students.

 

 

Filipino teachers are highly regarded abroad due to their competence in academics especially in teaching the English language. Since many non-English countries are now expanding their curriculum adding English language as one of the subjects/courses, Filipino teachers are very in demand abroad.

 

 

Aside from English, instructors for music, pre-school, physical education, academic subjects and private tutors are highly needed abroad.

 

 

Hiring Countries

 

Based on workabroad.ph data, leading countries which offer teaching jobs are from our neighboring countries like China and Singapore and from the Middle East like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. Western countries like US and New Zealand also hires competent teachers and instructors.

 

 

  • China offers 40 job vacancies for English teachers for private schools. The initial salary varies according to experience raging from USD500-USD1000 per month.

 

  • Most of the opportunities in Singapore are for Pre-school teachers or to those who has knowledge in teaching and assisting 2-5 year-old kids. Music teacher and language instructors are also needed in Singapore.

 

  • Private English tutors are highly needed in the Middle East where English is not predominantly spoken. English is now considered as one of the major subjects in the Middle East which is why Filipino teachers are highly needed there.

 

  • New Zealand needs pre-school teachers and music teachers for private Montessori schools. However, New Zealand is very particular with recruiting teachers, applicants must be highly skilled and can pass the New Zealand Teacher’s Council assessment and has an International English Language Test System (IELTS) passing grade of 7.0.

 

  • Although English is the official language in United States, US still needs of highly skilled teachers since the country’s numbers of teachers is not enough to reach out to the growing numbers of American students. 100 academic (English, Science, Math) and music teachers from pre-school to secondary school are highly needed in US. The salary is per hour basis which range from USD8-10 per hour.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Applicants must be a college graduate with a degree in Education (pre-school, elementary, secondary or college) or any related specialization.

 

  • For countries like New Zealand, Singapore and US applicants must pass the IELTS exam and must obtain a 7.0 average.

 

  • 2-5 years teaching experience is a MUST.

 

  • Applicants should possess good communication skills and good command in English.

 

  • Must pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) conducted by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC)

 

Other basic requirements are updated resume with 2x2 ID picture scanned or stapled, copy of passport, transcript of records, employment certificate, and license ID authenticated by the PRC.
