Get an Overseas Job and Pay Your Placement Fee Via Salary Deduction

Apr 8, 2010

Working abroad has lots of benefits- but unfortunately it also comes with a price. The Philippine law allows the recruitment agencies to collect placement fee that is equivalent to the workers’ one month salary. Although there are a lot of lucky applicants that were able to work abroad without paying a placement fee, there are still many Filipino workers that worry where to get the money they will use to pay the amount the agency requires so they can start working and earn in a foreign land.

For this reason there are many agencies that are willing to grant financial assistance to OFWs. They offer a fly now pay later program to their hired workers or the workers can pay for the fees via salary deduction. Many may find this scheme convenient because they will only start paying the placement fee when they are already earning abroad. It will be deducted from the monthly salary of the OFW.

If you are applying for a work abroad and wants to pay the placement fee via salary deduction, be aware that the agency usually charge an interest to the money they will lend. To be sure that you would not pay for much more than what you really need to, you have to study and discuss with the agency the terms and conditions regarding your loan before flying abroad.

As of this writing, here are the latest overseas jobs at WorkAbroad.ph that allows workers to pay the placement fee through salary deduction. The duration and amount of monthly deductions will depend on the agreement between the agency, the employer and the applicant.
