Are You Ready To Work in Korea?

According to the latest information from the Korean Labor Ministry, the Philippines has a 6,000 labor quota for 2004. 3,500 of it is for the manufacturing sector and 2,500 for the construction sector.
Apart from that, there is a separate 2,096 quota for Filipinos who have previously worked in Korea and responded to Korea’s amnesty program last July 2003.

How to Get Your Medical Certificate
Visit the nearest Department of Health (DOH) accredited clinic for Overseas Filipino Workers
For the blood test,patients are reminded not to eat within 8 hours up to the time pf the blood test.
Take the medical examination required by the Korean Government which includes pre-employment medical examination and other medical tests.
Pay the corresponding fee for the medical exams as indicated by the DOH for laborers under the EPS.
Standard Medical Tests for the Korean Employment Permit System (EPS)
A. Basic pre-employment medical examinations:
Complete physical examination, including visual acuity for left and right eyes (examination of both eyes)
Chest x-ray using plates not smaller than 11” x 14”
Complete blood count (CBC) including hemoglobin/hematocrit determination
Blood typing
ABO
RH
Stool examination
Psychometric evaluation
Urinalysis
Dental
B. Additional medical examinations:
Liver Function Tests:(liver examination)
SGOT
SGPT
Total Cholesterol
VDRL
HIV/AIDS Test
Hepatitis Antigen (HBs Ag)
Audiometry
Ishihara Color Vision Test
A color vision test that checks your ability to distinguish between different colors
C. For Females: Pregnancy Test
D. For aged 40: ECG
Duration of Job in Korea
Under the EPS, a laborer can legally work in Korea up to three (3) years. Their contract has to be renewed annually and after doing so must go back to the Philippines to re-apply if the said laborer didn’t exceed the age limit
