Updates on The 7th Schedule of the Employment Permit System- Test of Proficiency in Korean

Filipino workers have a chance for deployment in South Korea as the Human Resources Department of Korea in cooperation with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration will be conducting another Korean Language Test this year. The Employment Permit System –Korean Language Test (EPS-KLT) is now called the Employment Permit System- Test of Proficiency in Korean (EPS-TOPIK) and all who want to take the exam may register on September 20 to 23.

The following are the conditions and regulations sent by the Human Resources Department of Korea regarding the 7^th EPS-TOPIK.

Filipinos who want to be employed in Korea must pass the EPS-TOPIK (EPS-KLT), implemented by the Human Resources Development. Only the successful examines of the EPS-TOPIK will be included in the roster of available workers by submitting the job application for the EPS. Being an EPS-KLT passer guarantee one’s inclusion in the list of jobseekers but it does not guarantee that one will be deployed to the said country.

Test Date and Time: November 14, 2010 (Sunday) - 10:30 am- 11:40 am

Orientation of Examinees: 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Examinees must be at the designated test venue by 9:30am for the orientation of

examinees. Late Examinees will not be allowed to enter the venue or to take the test.

Available Type of Industry: Manufacturing Industry

All applicants of the 7th EPS-TOPIK (EPS-KLT) must choose “MANUFACTURING” in

the type of industry. Selection of other industry is not allowed.

The Expected Number of Passers: 6,000

-The number of passers can be changed according to the circumstance(such as EPS

status)

Test Venue : Test venues will be announced on November 3, 2010 on POEA website

( www.poea.gov.ph )

Qualifications for EPS-TOPIK (EPS-KLT) Registration

• Must be between 18 and 38 years of age (Born between November 15, 1972 and November 15, 1992)
• Must not have any record of conviction or imprisonment for a heinous crime
• Must have no record of deportation or departure orders from the Republic of Korea
• Must not be restricted from departure from the Philippines
• Must be physically and mentally fit
• Must be e- Registered with active status in the POEA Manpower Registry

Registration Procedure

Period: September 20, 2010 ~ September 23, 2010 (for 4 days)

Registration Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Registration Region : Metro Manila, Pampanga, Baguio, Cebu, Davao

Registration venue per Region will be announced later on POEA website. Applicant must register only in the registration venue where he/she want to take the test

Required documents

• EPS-TOPIK (EPS-KLT) Registration Application form (To be distributed at the registration venue)
• Application numbers are written on each application form. Each applicant receives and submits one application form only, use correction tape in correcting errors.
• Valid Passport or ID card (a copy of passport of ID card must be attached on
• application form)
• 2 pcs. passport size (pictures taken within 6 months)
• Test fee: P810 (local currency equivalent to US$17)
• No refund will be entertained after registration period. (However, re-application after
• cancellation is not allowed)

Passing standard

6,000 persons will be selected as passers among applicants scoring 80 marks (Full mark 200) by relative evaluation on the basis of test scores.

Passport or ID card ( must bring the same passport submitted during the registration)

No applicant is allowed to take the test without passport or ID card and Test Permit

Felt tip pen or ball-pen (black ink)

Other Information

Employment Permit system-Korean Language Test(EPS-KLT) has been changed its

title as Employment Permit system-Test of Proficiency in Korean(EPS-TOPIK).

There is no misunderstanding related to the title.

EPS-TOPIK(EPS-KLT) certificate for those who passed will be distributed by

POEA after seven (7) days from the announcement of test result in POEA website

(November 30, 2010).

Mobile phones, cassette players, PDA, MP3 player, electronic dictionaries, and other

electronic devices are not allowed to use during the test.

If caught cheating, test will be void, and examinee will NOT be allowed to take the

test for two years.

If there are discrepancies in information especially in the name and date of birth

between the EPS-TOPIK(EPS-KLT) Registration Application Forms and the passport,

the applicant will be denied entry to Korea even if he/she passes the test. Those who fail to pass the medical examination, has record of illegal stay in Korea, cannot be selected as job seekers.
