APPLYING FOR A JOB IN HONG KONG

 

Documents to prepare:

*Resume/Bio-data

*School Credentials   

 -Transcript of Records High School and/or 

 -College Diploma authenticated by DECS or CHED

*Trade Test/ Care Giving Training Certificate 

*Employment Certificate/s

*Birth Certificate     

 - Authenticated  by the National Statistics Office

*Passport

*NBI Clearance

*12 passport size pictures

*Marriage Contract (if applicable)

 

Procedures for Agency Hire:

1. Verify with POEA license and job order of the agency (Hotline: 722-1144/55)

2. Apply and Submit credentials to the agency

3. (if selected) Undergo Medical Examination in a DOH accredited clinic- 3days

4. (while waiting for visa) Attend PDOS with an accredited Provider -1  day

5. Obtain e-Receipt & e-Card

 

Procedures for Name Hire:

1. Submit documents to the Name-Hire Processing Center

    Requirements:

    ·  Verified Employment Contract

    ·  Visa

    ·  Passport

    ·  2 Passport Size Pictures

    ·  Payment for Fees

2.  Undergo Medical Examination with a DOH accredited clinic (3 days)

3. Attend PDOS at POEA(1 day)

4. Pay Necessary Fees at the POEA/OWWA Cashier

5. Obtain e-Receipt & e-Card:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
 

·   Minimum guaranteed wage is HKD 3,270 per month

·   A rest day equivalent to 24 hours once a week except on official holidays.  
    During official holidays, HHWs are entitled to a rest day with pay.

·   Entitled to paid leave of 7 days after working for a year.

·   An employer must grant a holiday to an employee for each of the additional
    statutory holidays in accordance with Section 39 of the Employment
    Ordinance.

·   Entitled to a vacation in her country of origin as specified in her contract.

·   Entitled to 2 sick leave days per month on the first year, and 4 days per
    month thereafter.  Accumulated paid leave days cannot go beyond 120
    days.

·   The sick leave allowance is equivalent to two-thirds of wages.

·   In case an employee gets sick or sustains injury, the employer must provide
    her/him with free medical attention.
