PAL can now fly to Guam

After upgrading the Philippines aviation safety training to Category 1 by the US Federal Aviation Administration or FAA, Philippine Airlines or PAL announces that they will expand their flights from the Philippines to Guam.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement that the increased frequency granted to PAL is a manifestation of enhanced international confidence in the Philippines according to Marciano De Borja, Philippine Consul General in Guam.
Consul General De Borja also invited PAL to help in promoting the Philippines with the economic and cultural diplomacy projects of the Philippine Consulate General.
PAL and other Philippine-flagged airplanes can now increase their frequency and routes to several destinations in the United States after the Philippine'saviation safety rating is elevated.
Guam is a key military base for the United States' Armed Forces and is once a stop over port for the Spanish Galleon Trade on way to the Philippines. The number of Filipinos residing in Guam made them the largest ethnic group second to the indigineous Chamorro group.
PAL will begin their daily flights to Guam on October 26, 2014.
