Beware of Agencies with no Valid License

  May 16, 2006

Illegal recruiters are everywhere and they are all out to jeopardize your dream of landing a job overseas.

It is therefore a must for all applicants to check if the agency they are dealing with is a licensed recruitment agency.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the government unit responsible for the monitoring of all landbased and manning agencies recently issued an advisory concerning some agencies that failed to fulfill the necessary standards set for the granting of license. Below are the following:

  • A-M Phili. Professional Services Corp.
  • Big Circle International Manpower Management Agency
  • Emmeri International Inc.
  • Jang International Promotions and Management Corp.
  • Mecprego International Inc.
  • Maritima de Manila MGM Systems Inc.
  • Princess Talent Center Production Inc.
  • Rising Sun International Human Resources Center
  • Starlink International Promotion Inc.
  • Studio 85 Promotions
  • Vitamin and Cebu Artists International Inc.

The above agencies are not authorized to post job openings nor process application for working abroad. Any recruitment activities of the said agencies must be reported to POEA.

All land based and manning agencies must follow the certain requirements set by POEA before the issuance of license. For complete details about the process of licensing of landbased and manning agencies, you can visit http://www.poea.gov.ph/

There are also many ways to confirm if your agency is approved by POEA. Visit the POEA website at http://www.poea.gov.ph/ for the complete list of all licensed agencies or call at the POEA hotline number 722-1144 and 722-1155.
