Why did you decide to leave the Philippines? I decided to leave our country, because I want to earn more and help my family. It’s my dream also to travel and work in other countries...
How did you get your current job and how did you leave the Philippines? I applied through POEA Cebu last 2004 and luckily I was one of the thousand applicants hired in Korea through Employment Permit System (EPS).
When did you arrive in your current location? I arrived here in September 20, 2004 at Inchon International airport and moved to Kyeonggido for 2 days training.
What were your most memorable moments in your current location? The most memorable moment I have experienced here was when I decided to visit my batch mate...I was lost somewhere I don’t know the place...I ride on and off the subway train...hmm what an experienced...but luckily I still found the far-flung place.
Tell us what has happened during your stay in this country you have worked in. It’s a wonderful experience being here in Korea because I have learn to embraced their culture especially there native language which is Korean, as well at their foods, like KIMCHI, it’s a kind of dish that I have never seen and eat before. My job is really hard and tough...specially during winter and summer...ohhh very cold and ohh very hot...imagined -10° during winter and 37° during summer…
What are the things that you miss about the Philippines? My family is what I missed most…because I can’t talk to them for a long time, only for a few minutes...hmmm imagined how expensive an hour call is? It cost 11thousand won or equivalent to Php 550. But now I can talk to them anytime using my the internet...Malls here is different from ours it’s small…Ü…And of course, occasions like Christmas and New Year...it’s quite different here...
What is your message to all OFWs around the world? To all my felllow OFW's we must try our best to stand out among the rest to show the world who are the real PINOY!!!! PUT GOD first in your heart...and always PRAY for HIS guidance...
