Guam to Hire RP Workers in the Coming Years
Filipino workers who want to work abroad may include
Guam in the list of countries that has various opportunities for skilled and professional foreign workers. According to Mr. Vic Fernandez, president of the Philippine Association of Service Exporters, Inc. (PASEI) , (an association of licensed recruitment agencies in the Philippines) there is a plan to transfer the base of US Marines from Okinawa, Japan to Guam in 2010.
This move will create construction and infrastructure projects that will require the hiring of foreign workers. A federal territory of the United States of America (USA),
Guam may hire 20,000 foreign workers from year 2010 to 2012.
Fernandez said that PASEI has arranged an eventual partnership with the Philippine Constructors Association for the hiring of workers from the agencies of PASEI.
