Business Visit (F) Visa

The F Visa is issued to an alien who is invited to China for a visit, an investigation, a lecture, to do business, scientific-technological and culture exchanges, short-term advanced studies or intern practice for a period of no more than six months.

 

Aside from the general requirements, you must also present an invitation letter from the host Company or unit in China, or a letter from your company.

 

Mailed applications are not accepted, you can apply in person at Visa Office of the Embassy or Consulate -General in the consular jurisdiction in which you live to submit the application. You can also entrust your application with your relatives or let a travel agent do it for you.

It would take 4 working days to process the F visa. For express service, additional fees of $30 for 1 working day processing (applications presented before 11:30 am may be picked up between 2:30 pm-3:00 pm on the same day), or $20 for 2-3 working days processing will be charged.

 

Visa Validity and Duration of Stay

Usually, the validity of a Single Entry or Double Entry “F” visa is 90 days or 180 days from the date of issue while, an “F” visa is 30 days only. The visa officer may extend the Duration of Stay if the applicant needs and requests a stay in China for more than 30 days.

 

Transit (G) Visa

The G Visa is issued to an alien who transits through China.

 

J-1 Visa

The J-1 Visa issued to foreign resident correspondents in China.

 

J-2 Visa

The J-2 Visa is issued to foreign correspondents who make short trips to China on reporting tasks.

 

Tourist/Family Visit (L) Visa

The L Visa is issued to a tourist group organized by the travel agency which comprises at least five (5) members who must travel together both in and out of China for sightseeing, family visiting or other private purposes. It is evidenced on the Group Tourist Form instead of on the individual passport.

 

Below is the list of documents needed in applying L Visa:

v      Visa Notification from any head office of the China Travel Service (CTS), China International Travel Service (CITS), or China Youth Travel Service (CYTS), or Chinese National Tourist Bureau, or any Chinese provincial Tourist Bureau.

v      Completed Tourist Group Visa Form in triplicate. If there is any blank left on the name list, draw a straight line from the left corner down to the right corner in blue or black ink.

v      Original passports which have been arranged in an order which is consistent with that appearing on the Group Tourist Visa Form.

 

Study (X) Visa

The X Visa is issued to an alien who comes to China for study, advanced studies or intern practice for a period of more than six months. It can be applied personally or have someone or a travel agent to apply for your visa.

 

Processing time

The regular processing time is 4 working days. For express service, additional fees of $15 per person for 1 working day processing, or $10 per person for 2-3 working days processing will be charged.

 

Application fees

Application for X Visa cost $80 per person for American passport holders and $24 for non-American passport holders.

 

Applicants are requested to by Visa, MasterCard, Money Order, Cashier's Check, Company Check or Cash. Personal checks are not acceptable. Please make the check or money order payable to Chinese Embassy.
