Filemon Samiley: Award Wining Manager in Dubai

Jun 3, 2008

Filemon of Makati decided to work abroad to seek greener pastures and improve his skills. He first worked in Abu Dhabi as a Supervisor. While working, he took a qualifying exam to be a Manager or Supervisor in Dubai and successfully passed the test.

His passing mark paved the way for greater employment opportunities. The qualifying exam has very low passing rate and at that time very few holds an approved or qualified supervisor ID.

Being a qualified supervisor, looking for a new and better job is easy. Jun confidently contacted all reputable firms and inquired for a vacancy. Soon, a company offered him a job as a Supervisor or Manager for a pest control company in Dubai.

He chose to resign from his job in Abu Dhabi, return to the Philippines and waited for his new visa. Later he went back to United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a direct hire. He arrived in his current location on 27th of September 1993.

Jun worked hard in marketing, documentations and supervision to establish the name of the company he manages. His efforts paid off because it is now one of the most highly regarded companies in Dubai. The company is even dubbed as the pride of Dubai’s pest control industry.

After several years of working overseas Jun showed excellent managerial skills. As a proof, he was honored by the Dubai Municipality Public Health Department for excellent track record in controlling health hazard related to activities, and improving staff hygiene practice and knowledge.

During the honoring ceremony held at the Al

Bustan Hotel in Dubai-UAE, February 17, 2008

This is also where he met his wife and had 3 children. All his children were born and are currently studying in Dubai - UAE. Of course, he still misses the Philippines…the trip adventures, the tourist spots and rural areas in the Philippines. Jun misses his mother and friends in Makati and even the turo-turo or carinderia foods.

His message to all OFWs around the world? We are known for being workaholic, technically motivated, English literate, clean and neat. Let us continue showing to the world that we are the Best of the Best and help our Kababayans abroad reach the top by being patient and productive.
