Construction Workers needed in Canada

Construction workers usually find employment in the Middle East. But now, Canada is also opening its doors.
According to an open letter issued by the Canadian Construction Association to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Canada is greatly in need of skilled workers to fill up the shortage of ocupation in their construction industry. They are even considering changing the current Canada’s immigration system to meet the labor demand.
Michael Atkinson, president of Canadian Construction Association said, "Although aggressive efforts by all industry players must continue in order to recruit Canadians to the construction industry, the fact remains that immigration policy must play a bigger role in meeting future labor demand."
Construction worke are in-demand because of the boom of the construction industry and the upcoming Olympic games. The following are included in the construction related jobs: carpenters, heavy equipment mechanics, welders, miilwrights, and iron workers.
In his letter, Atkinson recommends a number of changes to the provisions governing permanent and temporary admission in order to correct what the industry refers to as a problem.
