Philippine officials in Rome issued an advisory to warn aspiring overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) against fake email offers for various jobs in Italy. Apparently, the bogus email promises various employment opportunities supposedly for the reconstruction project of L'Aquila in Italy.

A new technique for this scammer is to attend events where many jobseekers gather such as job fairs. They send out their flyers in job fairs and attendees get the impression that they are an official participant to the event.

In fact there are cases of balikbayan boxes not being delivered at all. So it pays to be choosy when it comes to balikbayan box companies. There may be a lot of cargo forwarders that an OFW can choose from, but the question is -- can you trust them?

Bogus franchisors specifically targets OFWs because they had the fund and resources. WorkAbroad.ph is different from WorkAbroad.com and it is not in any way connected to this website. WorkAbroad.ph is using email@workabroad.ph  in corresponding to its applicants.

The consequence of being a victim of an identity theft is serious because it is your name and reputation at stake.
