Factory workers often work in an electronic or garments company. Their duties include detaching and attaching electronic parts or stitching and sawing clothes, shoes and bags. They are considered in a production team, each has their own tasks to fulfill. Finished products will under go quality analysis before distributed.
Basic Tasks:
Electronics
Attaching electronic parts and connects each with the other.
Testing the current or watt of electronic pieces
Connecting each piece to it’s respective location (micro chips)
Checking the functions of each product before the distribution
Detaching and attaching electronic products using high end equipments.
Garments
Making patterns of styles depending on the type of garments and client’s demands
Attaching each pieces by hand stitching
Sewing each pieces with the use of big sewing machines
Ironing each garments using big press irons.
Checking damages before distribution
Folding and distribute each garments on respective boxes.
Education and Training Requirements:
Graduate of high school or vocational courses in electronics or tailoring accredited by TESDA
Training certificates for electronics and sewing is preferred but not required.
At least 2-3 years experience working in electronic or garment factory.
Salary Information:
Local employment
PhP4, 000- PhP6, 000 a month
Overseas employment:
China- CYN3, 000 or PhP20, 975 a month.
Taiwan- TWD17, 280 or PhP24, 863 a month

Electronics:
Must have knowledge on basic computer
Must have experience and know how to attach electronic parts.
Must know how to test current of an electronic product
Know how to use big high end equipment used in the production
Know how to do quality checking before the distribution
Must be fast learner and easy to catch up.
Must be keen to details
Garments:
Must know how to saw different type of stitches
Must have experience working in a garment factory and must know how the production goes.
Ability to detach and attach garments to each other
Knowledge in pattern making
Know how to use big equipments such as sewing machines, press irons and other necessary equipments.
Must be keen to details and a fast learner.
Employment Opportunity:
Because of the looming global economic recession, some factories are affected. However, these companies promised to continue the production and will eventually get back to stability. The demands for Factory Workers are still increasing especially in Taiwan and China where most garments and electronics factories are located.
Work Environment:
Factory worker’s job is quite toxic, meaning because of the need of fast paced production; workers are obliged to work fast. Often times, they work for under grace pressure. The place is filled with heavy equipment and often produces off smell that is why the workers are provided with safety suits.
Work Hours:
Average factory worker often work 8-10 hours a day including over time.
