Employment opportunities abound for Filipino healthcare workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as confirmed by Ambassador Mohammed Ameen Wali. One of the reasons is the opening of a number of government hospitals in three economic cities.
In fact, the KSA just expressed its intention to hire medical doctors and dentists from the Philippines. It was announced by Prince Khalid bin Saud bin Khalid, the undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Prince Khalid said, For the first time we will have doctors from the Philippines and that would be good for Filipino doctors because they will exchange ideas and experience with their counterparts in Saudi Arabia."
This is the first time that Filipino doctors will be allowed to practice their profession in state hospitals of KSA. At present most Filipino doctors and dentists in private hospitals of Saudi Arabia are employed as assistant of doctor of other nationalities. Majority of foreign doctors working in KSA are Egyptians.
Saudi Arabia is set to hire 100 medical doctors from the Philippines next month (February). According to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the Health Ministry is also in need of the following:
100 female respiratory therapists
100 female physical therapists
100 female x-ray technicians
