Things you should and not bring in KSA

  Dec 5, 2010

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is very strict in implementing their government rules. Anyone who caught violating their law is apprehended and would cause you a lot of trouble in working in this country. That’s why overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are very keen in obeying these rules.

Here are some tips that personally came from our OFWs who posted their views at OFWGuide Forum.

A forumer benchadik posted: Ask ko lang po mga tips para sa mag-work sa KSA. Mga bawal dalhin. My website po na nakalista lahat ng bawal? Tapos yung medicine like biogesic at neozep ok lang ba dalhin? Saka alam po ba ninyo ung FIRST VITA PLUS na herbal juice. pwede kaya yun sa KSA? balak ko kasi magdala eh. thanks po. (I just want to ask some tips in working in KSA, what are the things banned to bring in, what about medicines like Biogesic and Neozep? Are you familiar with First Vita Plus, an herbal juice, I’m planning to bring some, is this prohibited there? Thank you.

Pre...Mga bawal dalhin mga religious items such as rosary, crucifix and bible. Over-the-counter medicines walang problema yan. Pwedeng pwede dalhin yan. Iwasan mo din magdala ng CD's or DVD's especially kung pornagraphic sya. Yung sinasabi mong herbal juice pwede sya siguro, hindi ako sure,” said forumer zurcekim. (Prohibited items to bring in here are religious items such as rosary, crucifix and bible. There’s no problem if you bring over-the-counter medicines. Avoid bringing pornographic CD’s and DVD’s. I’m not sure with the herbal juice you are saying but I guess it’s ok to bring some.)

In KSA, it is forbidden to stare at women, even if you are husband and wife or officially engaged you should are still not allowed to display affection in public.

Filipino workers who are planning to work in KSA, try to make a research the country’s customs first to avoid punishments.
