Filipino nurses who want to work abroad often needs to prove their competence and skills by passing qualifying examinations such as Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS), National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), Health Authority Abu Dhabi-Registered Nurses (HAAD-RN), etc. For nurses who want to work in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Council Examination requires foreign nurses to take and pass the Prometric Examination.

Prometric is a testing and assessment provider that operates test centers in more than 160 countries. The Prometric for nurses is said to be in a lot of ways similar to the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE).

For nursing technicians, the passing rate is 45% while for nurse specialists it is 50%.  The exam for nursing aides is comprised of the following parts:

Nursing Fundamentals: 28%

Medical – 23%

Surgical – 20%

While the exam for nurse specialist is composed of:

In the Philippines, the accredited testing center for Prometric exam is the Thomson Prometric located at Ateneo Professional Schools, 130 H. Dela Costa St., Salcedo Village, Makati City. The contact number is (02) 892-0383. The exam fee in the Philippines is USD90. The exam fee in Saudi Arabia is slightly lower at USD80.

Online registration would only accept payment via major credit card companies such as MasterCard, Visa and America Express.

Those who want to change their exam date or time can do so by the third calendar day prior to the appointment by using the Reschedule/Cancel option on the prometric website.
