Holland America Line, a recognized leader in cruise industry with headquarters in Seattle, Washington has 200 open positions for Filipino workers. They are specifically looking for workers to fill up positions in their hospitality and deck/technical department.

The manning agency handling the job openings is United Philippines Lines (UPL). Their job advertisement posted in WorkAbroad.ph states that they will accept and screen applicants during their in-house job fair to be held on October 2 and 3 from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Interested applicants are advised to bring their resume with detailed job description of the position they are applying for on the said dates. If available, applicants are also expected to bring copies of their employment certificates.

Applicants without Seaman's book are also welcome to apply. The manning agency would not require any trainings or documents unless the applicant passes the final interview of the principal.

Listed below are the open positions in Holland America Line:

Hospitality Department

• Sous Chef: Must have experience working from 5 star hotel of at least 5 years and above

• Chef de Partie: Must have experience working from high end restaurant or hotel for at least 3-5 years and above

• Demi Chef De Partie: Must have experience working in high end restaurants or hotel for at least 3 years and above

• Pastry Chef: Must have experience working in 5 star hotel for at least 5 years and above, please bring an album of                                                  your creations.

• Assistant Pastry: Well knowledgeable in pastry making, please bring an album of your creations

• Assistant Cook: Must be knowledgeable in international cuisines and cooking techniques.
  
  
• Kitchen Assistant: Well knowledgeable in food prep and kitchen safety procedures.

• Dishwasher/ Galley Utility: (male only), must have dishwashing experience and able to explain the proper procedure of dishwashing, chemical used in cleaning and washing as well.

• Bartender: Must be an ex-crew as bartender will be the top priority.

• Bar Waiter / Waitress: Must be a bartender from high end restaurants or hotel.

• Bar Utility: Must be well knowledgeable in wines, beers, liquors, and cocktails.

• Front Desk Officer: Must have experience working as front desk officer from high end Hotels, call center agents of at least 3 years of solid experience, flight attendant, or bank personnel with at least 3 years of experience. Must be with pleasing personality and can speak in English fluently.

Deck and Technical Department

• 4th Engineers (3rd Licence with enough seatime and good experience)

• 3rd Engineers (With 2nd engineers license and enough seatime)

• 2nd Engineers (preferrably with chief engineers licence, good management skills, familiar with diesel electric)

• Electrical Technicians (Master Electrician Licence holder)

• Plumbers (with Vacuum system knowledge)

• Machinist (at Minimum NC2 certificate holder and good experience)

• Tile Setters / Carpenters (with NC2 in carpentry and tilesetting)

• Engine Mechanics: (with experience on ships engines or power plants, no car or truck engines)

• Facility Technicians: (formerly ref tech, knowledge on big industrial systems with chilled water installations.)

• Security Guards:  (Male with X-ray machine experience) 
  
  

• FSA: (with experience in Smoke detection, sprinkler systems, SCBA, extinguishers, fixed fire fighting systems etc)
