To make the process of job hunting relatively easier for Filipinos, the Labor Department through its various Public Employment Services Office (PESO) and local government units conducts regular local and overseas job fairs nationwide. As the summer season would bring fresh graduates that would add to the country’s pool of jobseekers, the Secretary of Labor, Rosalinda Baldoz encourages participating in DOLE job fairs to be held in April.

Baldoz said, “The conduct of monthly job fairs has been DOLE’s employment facilitation strategy to bring jobs closer to jobseekers, especially in the regions. We are making their job search easier by bringing the jobs through the job fairs in the countryside.”

“By visiting the DOLE’s job fairs, graduates and jobseekers will spend less money and minimal effort to find a job since the DOLE already gathers both local and overseas employers all in one venue,” she added.

A data from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) states that the school year 2012-2013 would produce an estimate of 533,000 college graduates.
