Overseas Filipino workers in Riyadh have been advised by the Philippine Embassy to keep their passports within themselves.

The Philippine passport, according to the embassy, is a property of the Republic of the Philippines, thus only the owner can keep it in custody.

It is also stated under the Saudi and Philippine Law that Filipinos have the right to hold their passports while working in the Kingdom.
