  Maria Theresa S. Samante,  Feb 19, 2006

An official from an employment agency said that some 285 Filipino carpenter and skilled workers are about to hire by Dywidag Saudi Arabia, Co., a German company based in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Engr. Andre Jose Fausto of the Royal Crown International Agency, Inc. said that among the skilled workers to be hired by the company are steel men, masons, heavy equipment operators and few civil engineers.

He added that the company offers good compensation. For Civil Engineers, the salary they can make is about 2,800 to 6,000 Saudi Riyal a month or P39,000 to P84, 000 when converted to Philippine money.

In addition to that, he said that the applicants are not required to pay any placement fees, or any other expenses related in processing the job. It will be deducted and be settled through their salary when they are already in employed in Saudi Arabia.

"Out of 285, we are hoping we could recruit 90 to 100 carpenters and other construction workers in Palawan," said Engr. Fausto.

They already recruited workers in Lingayen, Pangasinan and he and his groups are in Palawan Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) based in the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), to look for deserving workers for overseas employment.
