A report from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said that South Korea may welcome the arrival of foreign doctors with medical licenses starting March 2007.
This is because of a proposed revision on the enforcement regulation of Korea’s Medical law which is set to be finalized this September, as announced by the country’s Ministry of Health and Welfare of South Korea. Qualifications and requirements for the deployment of foreign doctors will be developed by the Ministry before the year 2006 ends.
Foreign doctors will provide health care services to an estimated 45,000 Filipinos and 400,000 English speaking nationals living in Korea. They will not be allowed to give medical treatment to Koreans.
