The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration’s (POEA) list of job openings shows that Canada and Singapore need Filipino workers to fill vacancies in various positions. Canada basically needs skilled workers while Singapore needs some degree holders.

Canada needs about 3,000 Filipino workers to fill vacancy for skilled works such as welder, electrician, butcher or meat cutter, pipefitter, technician, mechanic, truck driver and iron worker.

While Singapore needs some 150 degree holders in engineering, management, marketing, and hotel and restaurant management. Aside from that they also need some 2,000 domestic helpers and 200 skilled workers.

According to provincial chief of Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Lina Mediatrix Beroy, recruits for Singapore will undergo a six months on-the-job training and are not required to shell out money for placement fees.

Interested applicants are advised to go to POEA’s licensed recruitment agencies to avoid being a victim of illegal recruitment.
