A new set of rules from the Borders and Immigration Agency of United Kingdom (UK) seems geared to the interest of numerous Filipino senior caregivers as it allows for the extension of their work contracts in UK.

The new policy repeal earlier decision of UK government not to extend the work permits of Filipino caregivers aged 60 and above. 

Emmanuel S. Geslani, recruitment industry consultant for several local agencies, said in a statement, “Extension applications will now be acted upon with the issuance and publication of the new guidance"

The recruitment consultant added, “With the new criteria our Filipino senior [caregivers] monthly salaries have been raised to £1,217 or at current exchange rate P115,000 plus overtime time," he added.
