Nature of Job:
Bank Tellers served as the mediator between the bank and the customer regarding their account concerns. They manage deposit, withdrawal, dollar, savings account and other matters.
Basic Tasks:
- Process the concern of the customers on their accounts.
- Assist customers regarding their billing problems.
- Receive and give money/cheque to the customers
- Count the money before giving to the customers
- Validate the originality of cheques
- Make transactions.
- Encode the transactions through the database.
- Keep receipts and other official documents.
Education and Training Requirements:
· Must be a graduate of Accountancy, Banking and Finance and other related course.
· Must have at least 2-3 years experience as a bank teller.
Skills and Competency Requirements:
- Must have knowledge in banking industry.
- Must have the knowledge and ability to handle various accounts.
- Must know how to use computer and bank devices.
- Knowledge in managing problems regarding customer’s accounts, statements and other concerns.
- Must have basic knowledge in accounting and mathematics.
- Can communicate well with the customers.
- Trustworthy and can keep confidentiality.

Bank Tellers remains in demand abroad despite of the economic recessions. They are highly needed to handle different accounts in banks and lending company abroad. The salary provided remains average compared to other jobs.
Work Environment:
Bank Tellers usually have their own counter or cubicle in a bank. The workplace is very conducive and pleasant since it provides good customer service, however, Bank Tellers often get stress especially when huge people lined up to make transactions. Banks are often customized with CCTV cameras and alarms to protect its people from criminalities.
