Notably, only 4 out of the 19 STI schools were included in the list. Monico Jacob, STI chair and chief executive officer said last week that their schools had “meticulously complied with CHED's requirements, including having base hospitals and competent faculty members”. She added that half had already been given a regular permit which means STI could teach up to the second year of a nursing course.

CHED chairman Rolando dela Rosa ordered these schools to close and wind up their offered nursing courses towards the end of this school year.

The 23 schools were not granted permits (upon recommendation of Technical Committee for Nursing Education (TCNE) and regional offices)because they failed to comply with these requirements:

        --a qualified dean 
        --CHED complaint curriculum
        --a faculty staff with masteral degree in nursing
        --a base hospital where students can hold their actual training.

Evaluating the compliance of applicant schools are members of CHED’s Office of Programs and Standards, TCNE, and regional offices.

The 23 schools should, then, issue an advisory to its Nursing students stating that they should transfer school or change their course come the end of the year.

CHED regional offices would be helping the schools in transferring their students to qualified schools.
