6 Ways to Increase your Chance of Being Seen by Employers

  Apr 16, 2015

WorkAbroad.ph has more than a million resumes in its database. In order for your resume to stand out and be seen by recruiters, make sure you follow these simple steps:

  1. Update your resume. When an employer or recruiter searches the WorkAbroad database, the latest resumes are displayed first. If you want to have your resume display on top of the pile, make sure it is updated every six months.
  2. Check your contact information. Can an employer contact you easily? Make sure you have updated your contact information so that employers and recruiters can reach you easily.
  3. Add a picture. Do you know that you can attach your picture in your resume. Make sure you place a formal picture in your resume. Your picture must have a maximum size of 20KB and must have a maximum dimension of 150 by 150 pixels.
  4. Add all pertinent information. Have you attended trainings? Are you certified? Do you have avanced education? Special skills? Put them in your online resume. WorkAbroad has an advanced search system for employers and a match can only be provided if you place all your skills and qualifications in your resume.
  5. Apply only in jobs that you are qualified. Do not apply to every job opening available. It just irritates the employers seeing your resume on every job opening. Apply only in job openings that fit your qualifications.
  6. Follow up with the recruitment agency. When you want to follow up, follow up directly with the recruitment agency. WorkAbroad provides only the facility for you and the employers to meet, follow-ups must be made directly to the employment agencies. Their contact information are shown on each job opening.

Finally, when you do land a job, please update your resume to “hide status” so that employers don’t keep contacting you when you already have a job and are already abroad. Good luck!
