A company based in South Korea is in need of about a thousand professional and skilled Filipino workers to fill their manpower requirement for a large project to be done in Madagascar.

A licensed recruitment agency, Jerphi Overseas and Trading Corp. (JOTC) informed that Geu Nam Construction Company has placed a job order for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). The job vacancies are for mechanical, piping, quality control engineers, safety officers, labor controller, foremen, welders (tig), pipe fitters, electricians, steelmen and other categories.

According to the Jerphi’s president, Cherry Cleary the need to hire foreign workers arise when the said Korean company firm won a contract with the world’s biggest mining company, the Rio Tinto Group that has substantial interests in Madagascar.

A number of international projects in mining and oil ventures are also in progress that will develop the country's potential natural resources.
Along with the two-year work contract, hired workers will receive remuneration packages such as free food and accommodation, free medical services, and other benefits.
